Leopardi 13, 20836 Capriano di Briosco (MB), Italy GIURGOLA STAMPI > History How a company can be renovate? By always seeing its story and having the courage to go further. To tell the identity of a company it is essential to remember its values, going to the root, and at the same time know how to observe its ability to innovate and renew itself. The acknowledgement to be unique and distinguishable from all others, leads to the awareness of what you do and know how to do it. Giurgola Stampi lays its foundations in 1983. We are an independent company, constantly focused on process improvement and customer satisfaction. Our desire is to bring added value to the industry and develop successful, cutting-edge solutions. The values of the founders, aimed at the continuous improvement of the quality and functionality of processes and results, are a heritage handed down over the years, until today, as a concrete sign of a great passion and ambition that go hand in hand with curiosity and spirit of initiative for a job that requires a desire to evolve and improve. From the first specialization in the production of threaded caps, the nature has always been proactive towards the search for new solutions: this aptitude has led to the purchase of machinery that would allow to experiment the realization of technologically advanced products and to open up to new markets. Investing in technical patents and maintaining a dynamic attitude has therefore been the drive to evolve towards the construction of moulds that produce increasingly complex parts and higher efficiencies, and to offer itself to an international clientèle. “Trying to always improve is the idea behind every project and every relationship with the customer. Because the mould maker is a creator, an artist of mechanics: every time he invents something new, he does something different, he is the one who represents quality in production” – Rocco Giurgola, co-founder of Giurgola Stampi. Giurgola Moulds Foundation Born as a generalist mould maker, it has oriented its activity towards multi-cavity moulds, in particular for threaded caps, specializing in unscrewing moulds. 1983 Construction of the first flip-top cap The first transformation takes place compared to the traditional unscrewing cap. This step represents an epoch-making turning point, as it introduces the company into an innovative and continuously developing market, still today the main reference market. 1994 Transfer to Albiate (MB) The extension and the new premises see the application of the first injection moulding machine that allows the testing phase internalisation, providing the testing information between the mould maker and the transformer. New machines are introduced that allow an increase... --- Processing of plastic moulds | Innovative moulds | Giurgola Stampi Rotate the device Design and co-design Mould construction Services Sectors Contacts Eng De Esp Fra Ita Rus Tur Company Who we are History Team Vision Who we are History Team Vision Design and co-design Mould construction Services Sectors Sectors Pharmaceutical Cosmetics and detergents Food Quality Blog Social Wall Contacts Giurgola Stampi - Via G. Our team of technicians is primarily represented by people with decades of technical experience and great communication skills. We pro-actively listen and interact, both internally and with the customer, to create a positive working environment and implement extraordinarily accurate projects. The person is at the heart of the project : human capital is the real starting point for the work development. The customer's needs and their satisfaction are of paramount importance: for decades Giurgola Stampi has maintained a natural predisposition for relations, dealing with all aspects together with the customer, from the study of the piece to the start-up in production of the mould at the customer's plant. “The sharing of experiences leads to the best result": we are an empathetic and positive team, but also expert and inclined to innovation. That's why part co-designing is an important factor in mould design. Our professionals, together with the customer, put into practice the insights discussed during the start-up phases of the project. Starting from new ideas or solutions already implemented, we can design the mould together: this activity allows us to actively participate in the generation of a concept or a product, and to channel the different visions for a common goal. During the mould design, we take care of the aspects that will allow the customer to maintain a high degree of efficiency of the equipment. Designing in a simple and accurate way allows a quick and safe maintenance of the mould, this is a focus that is a relevant factor within our technical department. --- Construction of Plastic Moulds | Plastic Moulds | Giurgola Stampi Rotate the device Design and co-design Mould construction Services Sectors Contacts Eng De Esp Fra Ita Rus Tur Company Who we are History Team Vision Who we are History Team Vision Design and co-design Mould construction Services Sectors Sectors Pharmaceutical Cosmetics and detergents Food Quality Blog Social Wall Contacts Giurgola Stampi - Via G. For more than 35 years we have been designing and producing cutting-edge moulds thanks to the most modern technologies and the skills of specialized professionals. Technology has changed the approach to production processes: how? At Giurgola Stampi we deeply believe that the production cycle consists of phases in which all resources are actively and constantly involved. Technology cooperates with man and helps him in the production of cutting-edge moulds. We have invested in Industry 4.0 to ensure that people’s skills are enhanced and amplified by an efficient and controlled production system. Within our production area there is an automated island with anthropomorphic robots, which interconnects three types of technologies: “Die-sinking EDM”, “3-axis milling” and “5-axis milling”. This allows us to be productive 24 hours a day, 7/7. We seek simplicity in every production phase: from mould design to assembly, also to facilitate the customer in the maintenance phases. Nothing is left to chance. Thanks to the strong push of automation, the workshop carries out flexible, precise and efficient processes. Technology improves the quality of the final product, but also that of the entire team work: for us the concept of “team work” embodies an extra meaning, because it combines the relationship between man and technology. The real cost emerges after production starts. In the multi-cavity sector, the initial financial evaluation is only part of the decision. Focusing solely on price means looking at the project from a limited perspective, without considering the impact the mould will have on the entire production system over the years. A mould is not just a mechanical component. It is a central element of an integrated industrial process, designed to operate continuously. Its real value depends on its ability to interact effectively with the production system and on the strength of the design choices that determine its long-term performance. In injection moulding, the difference between cost and investment is measured across the entire operational lifecycle, because it directly affects production continuity and profitability. Hours of Downtime per Year* Process quality Quality begins before start-up. It is built during the design phase, when every technical decision is evaluated methodically and with a comprehensive vision. Flow analysis, injection balancing, cooling optimisation, and deformation control are not merely formal steps, but decisions that determine the functional balance of the mould. In high-productivity moulds, even minimal thermal asymmetries can compromise cavity-to-cavity uniformity and lead to dimensional or functional differences. When the design is developed in a structured way, start-up does not become a trial-and-error phase, but a controlled process. This means reducing uncertainty, inefficiencies, and corrective interventions. Stability and repeatability are what enable the mould to operate consistently over time, without generating variability, ensuring that each part is consistent with the previous one. In high-volume production, even small variations can result in scrap, rework, or downstream issues. SPE (Society of Plastics Engineers) studies on process capability and statistical control demonstrate substantial scrap reduction after process stabilization; industrial benchmarks typically show scrap falling from several percent to near-zero levels, once a statistically stable process window is established. Thermal balance, tolerance consistency, and correct injection distribution affect the weight, geometry, and functional performance of the cap. Even minor deviations can impact assembly, sealing performance, or fit with the container Stability and repeatability It also means lost revenue, wages paid to personnel who are unable to work, urgent procurement of spare parts, and potential contractual penalties. A 2024 report estimates that downtimes for Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industries can generate peak costs of up to $40,000 per hour (Siemens, The True Cost of an Hour’s Downtime: An Industry Analysis) $ 0 k Cost per Hour of Downtime* READ THE REPORT Managing modifications In the industrial life of a mould, modifications are inevitable.  Product evolutions, regulatory updates, and market-driven optimisations are all part of the cycle. What makes the difference is the methodology used to manage them. A well-structured design approach allows for orderly interventions, without unexpected issues, with traceability of decisions and clear responsibilities. When design is approximate or poorly defined, even a limited intervention can turn into a widespread problem.  Delivery time reliabilityIn the context of multi-cavity injection moulds, meeting deadlines is not merely... --- Blog Here you can find curiosities from the world of Giurgola Stampi Mould and Integrated Automation: The Key to Competitiveness in 2025 In the world of injection moulding, 2025 marks a paradigm shift: the mould is no longer a stand-alone component, but the beating heart of an industrial ecosystem focused on productivity, repeatability, and smart automation. It starts with a concept and ideation phase, which forms the core of every project. Here, our design team, not only transforms an idea into a concrete project, but also actively collaborates with the client to fully understand their needs and specific requirements for the final product. This phase is not just a simple brainstorming session but a true phase of engineering the plastic part, where our technical office works to optimize the client's 3D file to ensure excellent results. One of the distinctive features of our R&D is the use of advanced fill simulations. These simulations allow us to predict and correct potential deformities in the molded part, ensuring greater precision and reducing development time. The results of these simulations guide decision-making during the design phase, allowing for an optimal definition of the mold parts, which get closer to perfection from the start. FIND OUT MORE From Design to Prototyping: A Journey Through Innovation A crucial milestone in our R&D process is the creation of pilot molds, composed of up to 4 cavities. These pilot molds are essential for testing the functionality and usability of the design, ensuring that it fully meets the established performance criteria. The transition to the production mold only occurs after the corresponding pilot mold has been successfully created and tested. From Engineering to Production: Precision at Every Step However, our commitment to research and development does not stop here. We continue to refine our process through all stages, up to the final testing. During the production phase, for example, we adopt strict dimensional controls to ensure maximum precision of the components. The assembly of the mold and its subsequent testing are also subjected to a series of rigorous tests aimed at optimizing the perfect formula to provide to the client. Additionally, we offer advanced services such as tomographic inspections, which allow us to compare existing plastic parts through a 3D scan. This tool detects errors and deformations not visible to the eyes, enabling our team to promptly make the necessary modifications to the component. This methodical and innovative approach exemplifies Giurgola Stampi's commitment to research and development. Every phase of our process, from ideation to production, is driven by the pursuit of maximum precision and technical excellence, qualities that have made us a reference point in the plastic mold industry. --- Blog Here you can find curiosities from the world of Giurgola Stampi LineUp: the mold lifesafer Prevent downtime with the LineUp control system LineUp is an innovative control system designed by Giurgola Stampi for injection moulds.
